America’s next vice president:
ethical, tough, and committed.
Representative Adela Ruiz has always believed in the values of justice and hard work. The daughter of an immigrant and a third-generation American, she grew up learning the meaning of self-sacrifice. She’s an alumna of California public schools UC San Diego and UCLA, where she earned a B.A. in public policy and a J.D. law degree.
For six years, she worked as a civil rights attorney, protecting marginalized voters, immigrants, and disabled clients. Her reputation as a strong policy advocate attracted the attention of Senator Callahan, who recruited her as part of an advising team.
Rep. Ruiz is the first Mexican American to represent California’s 52nd congressional district. In the four years she’s been a member of Congress, her legislation has helped expand voter access, regulate AI, and protect pregnant people’s right to bodily autonomy.
The middle of three sisters, Rep. Ruiz is a devoted aunt to her niece Adela and nephew Sebastian. She enjoys spending time with her family.
